Re: Suggestions Needed- Technical content development

If you need a comprehensive yet easy to use multimedia instructional design tool, take a look at Adobe Captivate-3. It allows you to build highly interactive training with branching scenarios that enable the learner to explore different pathways based upon his/her prior knowledge. Moreover, you can include a wide range of quizzes and monitor the trainees' progress via automatic emails. It outputs in Flash without you having to learn Flash or any other program although familiarity with javascript would be an asset.

Captivate output can be read through freely available Flash reader which is said to be already installed on 98% of the internet-connected computers. In comparison PP (incl. the 2007 version) is confined only to the final (presentation) stage and has no capabilities for instructional design development.

You may download a 30-day trial copy at  http://www.adobe.com/products/captivate/. I suggest you also check the free video and pdf tutorials at http://www.swict.com/captivatecourse.asp.
