Job Title: Senior Instructional Designer
Organization: CarMax Auto Finance
Location: Kennesaw, GA
Position Description The Senior Instructional Designer designs, develops and executes training strategies which align with the business objectives of key stakeholders at CarMax Auto Finance (CAF). This individual will create curricula and materials to support CAF’s training initiatives, including the integration of new programs into the organization’s overall training strategy. In addition, the Senior Instructional Designer will work in conjunction with key stakeholders to determine appropriate metrics for each new initiative.
Strategic Instructional Direction with Stakeholders

Develop and implement complex eLearning programs.

Create multimedia/web based courses, computer tutorials, videos, case studies and reference guides as needed.

Determines appropriate instructional methods, such as self-paced training, group instruction, simulation exercises, role plays and mentoring.

Facilitates and/or test training during pilot programs.

Monitors and analyzes training programs through learner’s satisfaction surveys, proficiency testing, job performance, and stakeholders’ feedback.

Assembles appropriate teams for content development, establishes timeline for development and implementation, tracks team’s milestones and delivery dates, and perform necessary tasks required to successfully complete and roll out programs as deemed necessary by CAF.

Develops measurable outcomes to assess the impact of the training strategy.
Collaborating with Talent Management

On CAF related programs and appropriate usage outside of CAF.

Assist where needed in technology related issues with eLearning programs.

Partners with peer counterparts when appropriate in program development.

Analyzes learning gaps and partners with subject matter experts to provide input on course content.

Assist in planning and coordinating corporate learning initiatives.
Mentoring Peers

Assist as needed in the development or oversight of less complex program development.

Provide feedback to peers on jointly developed programs.

Provide technology support as needed to peers.
Position Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

5+ years experience in instructional design and application.

Proficient in Training design/development.

Proficient in educational methods and application for adult learning.

Proficient in complex Web design and e-learning development.

Proficient using desktop multimedia and web-based development software (eg. Captivate and Adobe Creative Suite products).

Experience filming and editing video for use in eLearning applications a plus.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Bachelors degree, preferred.

Experience that demonstrates high degree of self-direction and motivation.
