Georgetown University - Qatar (GU-Q) is pleased to announce it is accepting applications for the position of Manager of Instructional Design and Educational Technology.

Under the leadership of the Associate Dean for Teaching Learning and Assessment, the Manager of Instructional Design and Educational Technology will collaborate with a diverse group of internal stakeholders and external partners to enhance the teaching and learning practices of the current undergraduate programs, as well as new initiatives and strategic priorities. This position will serve as GU-Q's expert in learning design, instructional design, educational technologies and learning management systems and use, and provide ongoing support and recommendations to faculty and administrators for effective educational technology tools. This position should have extensive knowledge of educational technologies and be aware of current trends and evidence-based teaching and learning practices in higher education. Key activities include: supporting faculty to incorporate robust, research-based pedagogical practices including course design, instruction and assessment methods, universal design for learning, and reflective practices; collaborating with departmental peers to support academic and student learning experiences and initiatives; and maintaining and developing strong relationships and ongoing communication with educational technology teams on the main campus in Washington, D.C.

Requirements:

 

  • Master's degree required (PhD or EdD preferred) in instructional design, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design and educational technology management in higher education.

  • Experience with supporting faculty instruction and consultation on teaching and learning design.

  • Experience creating multimodal instruction in higher education, including in-person, online, hybrid, hyflex, synchronous and asynchronous options.

  • Experience creating instructional resources in a variety of formats.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives.

  • Experience using data to inform practice and to make recommendations.

  • Experience creating and delivering training for diverse teams and groups, including new learner groups and cohorts, and non-experts in the field.

  • Ability to establish and foster collaborative relationships with individuals across all levels of the organization both internally externally.
