What is Instructional Design?

The terms instructional design, instructional technology, and instructional systems design, are often used interchangebly. As a result, it is sometimes difficult to accurately define instructional system design. Instructional technology, a field is also difficult to seperate from instructional design and instructional systems design. Wikipedia defines instructional design as follows:
