Summary: The Director of Teaching and Learning will provide leadership in support of the College’s strategic initiatives related to teaching and learning. These initiatives include planning and implementing faculty development and design of courses that focus on improving student achievement using emerging educational technologies and applied instructional strategies. THIS IS AN ON-CAMPUS POSITION IN READING, PENNSYLVANIA.

Education and/or Experience:

Required:
• Master's degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum Design, Professional Development, Online Education, Education or related field.
• At least 3 years’ experience working as an instructional designer or instructional faculty member in higher education.

Preferred:
• Proven experience with course and curriculum design processes, including learning outcomes and assessment, curriculum alignment, and learning-centered teaching strategies.
• Extensive experience working with learning management systems, specifically Canvas, multi-media authoring tools, collaborative tools, assessment tools, and digital learning materials.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.
• Experience supervising staff that includes evaluating performance, training, assigning and directing work.
• Excellent professional written and oral communication skills, and strong customer service orientation. Computer

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Other Skills and Abilities:
• Must be able to self-train on new hardware and software.
• Must possess ability to work independently to resolve problems.
• Must be able to establish rapport with staff, faculty and students.

Other Qualifications: Ability to effectively communicate and foster a cooperative work environment; skill in the use of computers in a PC windows-based operating environment; knowledge of customer service standards and practices; ability to provide technical advice and information to faculty in area of expertise; and ability to train other individuals.
