ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
USF Innovative Education is an academic support unit that partners with USF's colleges to develop, market and recruit students into the university's most innovative programs. Services include online faculty development, online course design and development, program development, marketing, recruitment, admissions support and related services.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Facilitates and participates in the development of high-quality digital instructional materials and online courses, based in sound learning theory and instructional best practices. Collaborates with faculty, learning designers, and other stakeholders to design and develop interactive and media-rich content, serving as project leader on assigned projects. Evaluates online courses and makes recommendations for improvements based on the Florida Quality Review process. Produces digital assets and multimedia solutions while adhering to quality standards, student learning outcomes, and production timelines. Articulates the scope, challenges, solutions, methodology, and impact of all learning design projects through the use of project plans, case studies, and scope documents. Collaborates with Training & Support and Media teams, to develop customized solutions to meet faculty needs and student learning outcomes.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Portfolio must be included. Expert in the use of Articulate Presenter and Storyline, Photoshop, and HTML and CSS scripting. Proficiency in creating multimedia assets for digital learning, using technologies such as Articulate, Adobe and Camtasia.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitates & participates in the development of high-quality online courses and learning materials based in learning theory and best practices, collaborating with faculty, learning designers, and stakeholders. Assesses learner & faculty needs to determine appropriate & creative delivery methods, recommending instructional strategies and technologies to facilitate learning outcomes. Performs thorough content analysis to identify and produce innovative solutions for content delivery, ensuring grammar, organization, & purpose are clear and appropriate for intended audience adhering to quality standards, student outcomes, and timelines. Demonstrates expertise in learning theory, principles and implementation.

Produces digital assets and multimedia solutions while adhering to quality standards, student learning outcomes, and production timelines. Gathers feedback from stakeholders to continually update and improve course development processes. Articulates the scope, challenges, solutions, methodology, and impact of all learning design projects through the use of project plans, project management tool, case studies, and scope documents.

Researches, utilizes, and applies the most up-to-date practices and technologies related to learning design and online learning applications. Collaborates with the Learning Design team to share ideas, offer feedback and best practices. Collaborates with Training & Support and Media teams, to develop customized solutions to meet faculty needs and student learning outcomes.

Continually develops professional skills through learning design and skills trainings, presenting at conferences, meetings and events, writing case studies, academic papers, etc. Also, works closely with Digital Learning leadership to lead university initiatives and special projects, as needed, from conception to completion.

Evaluates online courses and makes recommendations for improvements based on the Florida Quality Review process.

Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:
This position requires a Master's degree in education, learning design, digital media or related field, with two to five years of experience in related positions.

PREFERRED:
Experience preferably in a course development role within a higher education setting, experience with rapid development software and quality design standards.

SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:
Strong learning design and multimedia development skills with expertise in learning design theory, principle, and implementation; communication, organization and interpersonal skills; detail and team-oriented; ability to interact with faculty and facilitate course development projects; ability to assess learner needs to determine creative solutions/delivery methods; ability to produce high-quality digital assets adhering to quality standards, SLOs, and production timelines.
