Position Title: Instructional Designer Coordinator
Reports to: Associate Director, Instructional Design Posting Summary

Drexel University seeks an Instructional Designer Coordinator (IDC) to join their award winning Learning Technologies Group. The IDC assists in the development and delivery of online courses and multimedia for Drexel University’s online programs. The IDC works with Senior Instructional Designers and faculty in order to meet schedules and milestones through their assistance in the development of a wide variety of course materials. The IDC will reinforce and implement high standards of quality for online course design through application of best practices in instructional design theory.

 

This is an independent contractor position, eligible for renewal every six months for up to 2-3 years pending job performance. This position is not benefits eligible.

 

Qualifications:
 

• B.S. or B.A. required

• Minimum 1 year work experience in instructional design, preferably at a college or university

• Knowledge of synchronous and asynchronous learning and best practices in online teaching

• Working knowledge of Blackboard Learn and Bb Collaborate

• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, and Audacity

• Experience with Articulate, Storyline, Captivate and multimedia development

• Familiarity with Quality Matters and Online Accessibility a plus

• Demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service

• Must be able to perform under tight deadlines

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Job Responsibilities

• Manage the development schedule for online course development and delivery for assigned programs

• Communicate effectively with faculty about expectations and deadlines

• Port master courses into live courses each quarter and set timings

• Develop new courses and update current courses as needed

• Coordinate across the team to develop multimedia for online courses

• Look for ways improve process & procedures

• Trouble shoot LMS issues as needed

• Special projects as assigned
