Job Title: Instructional Designer

Gannon University, a Catholic university, invites applications for the position of Instructional Designer for the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. The successful candidate will consult and support faculty with the integration and implementation of innovative instructional strategies and technologies in pedagogical activities; provide guidance to improve instructional material presentation; lead the development of online courses with subject matter experts and faculty, and will assist faculty in the expansion of existing instructional strategies to improve student learning. Requirements include a master's degree in Instructional Design or a related field; three-plus years of experience specific to faculty development and instructional design, online course development, instructional strategies and technology in higher education, implementation of e-Learning strategies, and Quality Matters. Preferred experience with multimedia, such as Tech Smith Camtasia, Articulate, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Cloud,) and proficient in Microsoft Office; and must have knowledge and experience with Blackboard Learn including behaviors related to student interaction; must have knowledge of current learning theories, instructional strategies and instructional design processes including storyboarding. Must be creative and flexible, and have excellent verbal, written, and communication skills; be able to work independently and as part of a dynamic team; have experience and knowledge of using both MAC (desirable) and PC platforms; and have knowledge of accessibility issues and emerging technologies as appropriate for online learning materials. Must be able to support and promote the University's Mission.
