Girls on the Run International is a non-profit organization that provides afterschool programming for girls. 225 local councils deliver the program in their communities with the help of volunteer coaches. In order to better train and prepare council staff and volunteer coaches we will begin using a Learning Management System (Cornerstone OnDemand) beginning summer 2016. As a result, we are seeking a contract eLearning Developer/ Instructional Designer with strong Articulate Storyline experience to create new and modify existing online eLearning modules. www.girlsontherun.org
Contract Position Title: eLearning Developer/ Instructional Designer
Contract Position Profile:
This contractor will work with the programming and training teams on a 9-month freelance assignment to provide instructional design and development for eLearning modules across multiple departments. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in instructional and elearning curriculum design (preferably in the non-profit industry) and will have a creative design aesthetic with solid animation skills. This contract position is remote with flexibility regarding location within the United States. The hourly rate being offered is between $45-55 per hour depending on experience.
Essential Functions:

Prepares clear learning objectives that reflect the training needs and meet the overall organizational objectives.

Develops conceptual design documents, detailed design documents, storyboards, project plans, timelines, and issue/resolution logs.

Validates design scope and requirements for new projects.

Optimize educational impact of content.

Make updates/ changes based on feedback.

Test and implement elearning modules ensuring integrity of design.

Write effective copy, instructional text, audio/ video scripts.

Share instructional design knowledge with team.

Develop formal evaluation process for course material.

Manage project deadlines as related to deliverables for this contract.

Coordinate with various subject matter experts, team members and key stakeholders throughout the design, development and implementation process.
Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Certificate(s) or coursework related to eLearning or Instructional Design required.

4+ years of experience creating engaging eLearning products using Articulate Storyline.

Ability to provide work samples of eLearning products and courses.

Experience integrating with learning management systems including creating SCORM compliant files and troubleshooting SCORM compliance issues.

Demonstrated expertise in eLearning instructional design and adult learning theory.

Understanding of aesthetic design principles needed to create visually appealing tools.

Must have a familiarity with Articulate Storyline and an understanding of the capabilities of elearning development tools and software.

Must have own computer.

Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, a strong focus on detail and the ability to work on tight deadlines.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
