Job Title: Instructional Design and Development Internship

Position

 

The Instructional Design Intern will aid in the design and development of a comprehensive training and certification program for an international renewable energy software user group. The intern will work under the supervision of an experienced instructional designer.

 

This Boulder-based small business seeks to ensure quality and consistency in results across their diverse user audience and provide a consistent training experience that takes into consideration a global user group where often English is a second language. HOMER Energy is located in Boulder, Colorado, but this internship can be remote. Our instructional design expert who will oversee the work is located in Maryland.

 

Responsibilities
 

  • Conduct an analysis of training needs through surveys and/or consultation with subject matter experts.

  • Create an instructional design plan that outlines training purpose/goals, learning objectives, learning activities, technology requirements and evaluation methodology.

  • Design, repurpose and develop engaging and interactive software instruction using existing course materials.

  • Design and develop training materials to support a distributed user base.

 

Qualifications
 

  • Master’s degree in instructional design and technology or advanced candidate.

  • Experience with software training.

  • Knowledge of and experience with ADDIE and/or SAM development processes.

  • Expertise in common online learning software e.g. Camtasia, Articulate, Captivate, MS Office.

  • Experience with a variety of learning delivery types (instructor-led, synchronous and asynchronous).

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate (both oral and written) effectively with others in the pursuit of common goals.
