COG is Canada’s oldest organic organization and only national organic agricultural charity. We specialize in the design and delivery of educational publications and workshops. We’re seeking the services of a skilled and experienced Instructional Designer and e-Learning Consultant to guide the design of Canadian academic curriculum on ecological seed production.
This role requires someone with diverse experience in instructional e-learning design and the creative talent to develop robust learning solutions. The consultant will collaborate with the project manager and curriculum steering committee, engage subject matter experts, guide the entire curriculum design process and build creative and engaging learning materials."
Responsibilities

Lead Instructional design and e-learning development and implementation; providing clear timelines through all phases.

Manage the development of supplementary instructional materials (tutorials, tests, assignments, reference guides, navigational texts, etc.) that transform complex information into professionally written, interactive e-learning instruction.

Select and design appropriate content structures and learning methodologies for blended solutions, e-Learning courseware, instructor-led and virtual classrooms and performance support tools.

Manage program deliverables within budgetary, resource and scheduling requirements against defined project milestones and deadlines.

Ensure the creation of content is appropriately matched to instructional objectives and desired performance outcomes.

Consult with the project manager, curriculum steering committee members and subject matter experts to identify; performance gaps and training requirements, learning objectives, performance outcomes and, evaluative strategies to deliver customized learning solutions.

Guide usability of learning programs by applying latest trends in graphical user interface (GUI) design as appropriate.

Support the design of a complementary practicum that enhances the learning outcomes of the online curriculum.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Education, Education Technology, Education, Distance Learning, Human Performance Technology or related field.

A minimum of three years of experience in developing web-based training or e-learning design and development, to include knowledge of and experience with instructional design (ISD) practices and adult learning theories.

Experience in the design of complementary practicums is considered an asset.

Proficient graphic designer with experience working with multimedia and graphics for education and course development.

Experience with e-learning management tools such as Moodle.

Highly Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), and other e-Learning design software.
